Hi this is Jeff Crittenden, I am a current teaching pro. I am a PGA member, I just won the 2017 world long drive master’s division, with a 383 yard drive.
On this lesson we are going to talk a little bit about why spine angle is very important in the golf swing. When I set up I am going to set up with my spine angle leaning back to my right. For a couple different reasons, one my left hand is on top of the club, my right hand is underneath on my grip. So when I set up my spine angel needs to be tilted back. When I swing the club back, see my spine angle is still tiled back. If my hips slide and my spine angle goes forward I can’t hit a golf ball in this position. My body is going to have to react and slide through the shot.
So very important in set up and swing when I swing back I am going to come down with my spine angle tilted backwards on every golf shot, maybe except putting. In every other shot it is tilted backwards as I hit it. I am going to set up, turn back, spine angle, turn into the golf shot, spine angle still. The more this moves the more inconsistent your golf swing is going to be. You want to keep this very steady in your golf swing. Thank you.
Sincerely,
